General Information About Chocolate Making Tour by Two Little Monkeys
Throughout this immersive and flavorful tour, you will discover the fascinating world of cacao — from its origins as a sacred plant in ancient civilizations to its transformation into the beloved treat we know today. You’ll learn about the cultural, economic, and social importance of cacao throughout history, as well as its role in modern sustainable farming.
The experience begins with a guided walk through our lush organic farm, where you’ll encounter cacao trees alongside a variety of tropical fruit trees, aromatic spices, and medicinal plants. Your guide will explain the cultivation process and share insights into traditional farming practices.
Next, step into the past as you use ancient tools and original recipes to grind roasted cacao beans and prepare two authentic chocolate drinks, just like the indigenous communities did centuries ago.
The sweet finale of your experience includes molding and decorating your very own chocolate bars, which you’ll get to take home. While your chocolates cool and set, enjoy a hands-on demonstration of how sugarcane juice was traditionally extracted using a wooden “trapiche.” Sip the refreshing juice and explore our boutique of handcrafted chocolate products, all made on-site using locally grown ingredients.
